School Life

I studied at Department of Applied Foreign Languages, National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School (NTCVS).  Since I was a child, I have a crush on English. This is why I chose it as my major.  Not only did I pay close attention in class, but I also attend some English contest to improve my English ability.  For instance, I submit two English compositions to our school’s magazine.  Furthermore, with an eye of examining my English ability, I took General English Proficiency Test for the intermediate level and the level 2 of the Test OF ENGLISH ABILITY administered by the Test of English Ability Association, and I passed it. Besides, when I was just an 11th grader, I attained the preliminary test of the high-intermediate level of GEPT, including listening and reading.  Apart from learning English, I have also studied Japanese in the cram school since I was a 10th grader student, and I also listened to Japanese songs and watched Japanese animation cartoons to enhance my Japanese listening ability in my free time.

In addition to studying hard, I also learned a lot from serving as a class cadre member and join in many activities.  I have ever served as class leader, vice class leader, assistant to Regulation of Practice & Counseling Division and assistant to English writing teacher in my class.  By being in charge of these positions, I got many precious experiences.  For example, I was extremely happy to be elected class leader of my class, but I was not capable of being a good class leader at the beginning of the semester, since I couldn’t handle everything very well such as express myself clearly as I announced something important to my classmates and leading my classmates to discuss important issues, and help them to reach a conclusion.  Yet, my teacher and my friends help me to undergo the tough moments; moreover, I learned step by step and did everything with all my might.  Finally, I made it to be a responsible leader, and the most valuable lesson I have learned is that if you want to please everyone, you would probably please no one.  Had it not been for the opportunity of being a class leader, my leadership ability could not have improved so much; also I wouldn’t grow and become more mature.  Leading a class was a little difficult for me at first, but I was glad that I learned so much from serving for my class.
